Clerks Made Up Sentences in Court Files

Summary


COURT officials guessed the results of cases in a bid to cover their failure to enter thousands of convictions on official records, a damning report revealed today.

The Government's Inspectorate of Court Administration found the sentences for at least 27 offences were fabricated on computer disk and others were input as "entered in error" or "dealt with".
