NOW he's back in big-time politics, attention turns to the business interests of Sir Malcolm Rifkind, the former Foreign Secretary and new MP for Kensington and Chelsea. Rifkind must surely command a place on the Tory front bench, and is being touted as a possible leadership candidate. In which case, will he have to relinquish the chairmanship of ArmorGroup, the London-listed supplier of "private security" - that's mercenaries to you - to Iraq? He could brazen it out, like Steve Norris at Jarvis, but the signs are that he will walk out on the Pounds 50,000-plus-a-year post. ArmorGroup will discuss his position with him shortly. Rifkind's recent track record certainly suggests he's more a quitter than a fighter. After all, when bid talks for administrationthreatened oil firm Ramco broke down last month, he quietly detached himself from his directorship there.
