A SCATHING report today singled out City Airport for detaining would-be immigrants in substandard facilities.
Its privately-run holding centre was "completely unsuitable" for children, said chief inspector of prisons Anne Owers. Her report said immigration detainees were forced to sleep on tables or plastic chairs. Gatwick airport and Dover asylum screening centre were also criticised for failing- to provide facilities for families held overnight.See the full content of this document
