AFTER the shock loss of Vodafone from its UK stores last month, Carphone Warehouse has been holding talks with the mobile giant to protect its pan-European business.

Chief executive Charles Dunstone said: "Obviously, there has been a lot of discussion and I think we have both concluded we're better off as friends rather than enemies."
