THE high-class prostitute at the centre of the sex scandal that led the New York governor to quit was revealed today to be an aspiring singer and sometime drug user who left home when she was 17.

Ashley Youmans, 22, until now known as Kristen, broke her silence after she was forced to testify against the call girl agency that employed her. Youmans, who also goes by the name of Ashley Alexandra Dupre, told the New York Times: "I just don't want to be thought of as a monster."
