The indomitable Tory MP Ann Widdecombe is to stand in as presenter of the Richard Littlejohn show on Sky News, but will not be making undue efforts at impartiality. 'I am looking forward to being Richard Littlejohn,' Ann tells me. 'We both know our minds and how to chair a discussion. I believe people know where I am coming from and there is no point in concealing that.' She has yet to decide what to wear: 'It will be my usual clothes but I shall keep in mind the rule about not strobing. I will not strobe.' Paul Burrell put a brave face on not walking away with a prize at the WH Smith People's Choice Book Awards. 'I was surprised my book didn't win because the sales were so good, but the fact is it is too controversial,' he said.
'The people aren't ready for me yet.' Will they ever be ready, one wonders? 'Time will be its own reward,' he added.
