WHAT A coincidence. Leader of the House Geoff Hoon has arranged for next week's Commons recess to take place between 16 and 27 February.
These are precisely the same dates that his 15-year-old daughter will be on a half term break from her Nottingham School. (It's a foundation school, by the way.) The talk at Wesminster is that many MPs are unhappy with Hoon's decision, claiming he has organised parliamentary business to suit his own ends. Half term for many schools begins before the House rises and ends before the House returns, depriving many politicians of valuable time with their offspring.See the full content of this document
