IT'S NOT the best year for the English cherry. Weather conditions have seen usually plump fruit shrivel and stocks are limited.
Having said that, cherries are one of the new boom crops for British farmers who are rushing to plant orchards and keep up with trends for eating British stone fruit. This reverses the moves over the past 40 years to grub nearly 20,000 acres of orchards to make way for arable farming.See the full content of this document
