MAY is such an optimistic month. Given just a hint of sunshine, it will act as a standard bearer for the summer to come. The better weather means that more native lobsters are being caught and they are in remarkably good condition. Pea shoots are hitting menus everywhere and even find themselves on offer in supermarkets.
They may become the latest musthave ingredient because this is the first year they have been grown in any volume. The first Italian tomatoes are coming into the country.
