Bill Clinton was so impressed by the Evening Standards coverage of his May 1997 visit he asked for his own copy. The pictures [of Clinton and Tony Blair] went straight on to the front of the Standard Best of pals which BC loved when he saw it and later he asked if he could get a copy Hilary Coffman [a No10 press officer] had to go and buy one from a punter for 10 quid!
Mr Campbell claims that an African leader pinched Mrs Blairs bottom at a Commonwealth heads of government meeting. TB was regaling us with a few stories from the receptions.
