BIDS worth almost Pounds 20 billion in Footsie 100 companies landed on City desks today, with the promise of more to come. With much of the proceeds from those deals expected to be ploughed back into the stock market, it has to be good news for investors.
Hanson climbed 50p to 1107p after Germany's HeidelbergCement made an agreed Pounds 9.5 billion offer for the building products group.
