JIM Naughtie, who sent his son to Pounds 18,000-a-year Westminster School, was kept away from the heated subject of selective schools for the second time in a week on Radio 4's Today programme this morning.

Last Wednesday, the BBC chose his co-host Carolyn Quinn rather than him to quiz shadow education secretary David Willetts on the Tory U-turn over grammar schools, and today it chose his co-host John Humphrys rather than him to quiz David Cameron on the subject.
