Summary
Archigram This exhibition offers a look back to the future. Founded by six young London architects in 1960, Archigram dominated the architectural avant-garde through its zany, pop-inspired drawings and an occasional magazine. Its focus was the city, whose evolution it envisaged as being driven by technological and social progress 'Plug-In City' and 'Instant City' are its best-known projects, but other cheeky inventions include 'The Suitaloon', a garment that becomes a home, and 'Blow-out Village', an entire town that inflates from a hovercraft.
