JEFFREY Archer went on forever about his publishing triumphs and disasters, including how he was out-talked by Billy Carter and Mickey Mouse on the Today Show in America, at yesterday's Daily Mail literary lunch at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in Bayswater. So much so that the Queen Mother's biographer William Shawcross had to shorten his own speech rather dramatically while eating.
Shawcross was rather disturbed to hear that the Royal Lancaster changed its name earlier this month to the Lancaster London because its new owners want to promote its London connections. "It's very sad," Shawcross who, after six years writing his 1,000 word tome, is a good friend of the Royal Family, told me.See the full content of this document
