THE two American tycoons who today had their Pounds 435million offer to take over Liverpool accepted by the board pledged they are committed to the club long term.

George Gillett and Tom Hicks, who own NHL teams, will pay Pounds 219m to cover the shares and debt while the rest will go towards building a 60,000-seater stadium in Stanley Park.
