ONE of London's most famous anti-addiction clinics for smokers faces closure because of a funding crisis.
Just 10 days before the smoking ban is introduced, one of the three NHS trusts that funds the Maudsley Smoking Cessation Clinic in Denmark Hill has said it may pull out. Lewisham Primary Care Trust has spent a quarter of its anti- smoking budget on the flagship service but found only 116 people had quit in a year.
