A SCHOOLBOY almost died after he was hit on the head by a cricket ball in a PE lesson.

Year nine pupil James Yeaman had seemed fine following the accident, which happened on his 14th birthday, but he later collapsed in the school library. He wastaken to hospital by air ambulance helicopter from the Jo Richardson school, Dagenham. The teenager had an operation to relieve pressure from bleeding into his brain and to seal an artery.
