MORE than 5,000 fans could be stranded in England if top-level negotiations involving Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and the country's biggest union fail to resolve a dispute which threatens to damage Saturday's Euro 2008 qualifier in Tel Aviv.

A general strike began at 6am this morning involving Israel's public service workers with the national labour court meeting later to try to get an injunction.
